The very beautiful Mahima Chaudhry began her journey in the Hindi film industry with Subhash Ghai’s super hit musical drama Pardes. Co-starring Shah Rukh Khan, Apurva Agnihotri, Alok Nath and Amrish Puri, the film not only received rave reviews but also became the fourth highest-grossing Bollywood film of that year. While Mahima has been away from the limelight since quite a long time, fans still remember her as the powerful young bride-to-be Ganga thanks to her spectacular performance in Pardes. The film completed 23 years this month and is till today considered to be one of the most iconic masterpieces of Bollywood.

In a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, the beauty recalled her experience of working with the king of hearts, Shah Rukh Khan. She shared, “It was very scary! Everyday, when he’d turn up on set, I used to shiver and used to fear that when we are performing, I’ll forget my lines. So, Mr Ghai made us shoot for 15 days without Shah Rukh Khan as he realized that everybody was scared! By the time he arrived, we all were more comfortable. Then we both did scenes together. For a girl who has never acted before, to be paired opposite the person who is the darling of the masses and who is winning best actor awards almost every single year was petrifying!”

Mahima went on to add, “Even Amrish Puri was doing very well at that time. Then Alok Nath played my father and there was also Dina Pathak in the film. And all were very, very good.”
