3 Years Of Meri Pyaari Bindu: Ayushmann Recalls How He Fell In Love With Kolkata, Parineeti Calls It The ‘Most Special Film’

There are some films which do exceedingly well at the ticket windows and enter the 100 crore club within just a few weeks. Then there are those special stories which may not get the love that they deserve on the Box Office, but still manage to successfully touch our hearts leaving a deep impact. Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra’s Meri Pyaari Bindu was one such masterpiece. As the film clocks in 3 years today, the lead actors took to their social media handles to celebrate the milestone.

Along with candid photographs from the sets, Ayushmann penned a message sharing that his character Abhimanyu ‘Bubla’ Roy was very similar to him. He shared, “He loved old songs, was a compulsive writer and a sucker for nostalgia. The box office didn’t pamper this gem but this film will always be special.” He went on to add that these pictures were clicked at St Xaviers College in the summers of 2016 and a day later they witnessed ‘kaal baisaakhi’. It was his first and right then he fell in love with Calcutta.

Parineeti, on the other hand, uploaded a behind the scene clip and beautiful stills from the film, revealing that even after 3 long years the climax of Meri Pyaari Bindu still gives her heartache. She went on to write: “If you have ever experienced a broken heart, well then, this film... #MeriPyaariBindu did not get love at the BO, but its the most special film. Kolkata, the 90s, dost, baarish aur music. Sigh....” Take a look:

The romantic drama not only introduced us to an adorable on-screen pair, but also taught us how heartbreak can be handled beautifully. Meri Pyaari Bindu is truly a class apart.
