5 Years Of Bajirao Mastani: Deepika Padukone Celebrates Mastani's 'Passion' And 'Fierce Dignity' With A Stunning Unseen Photo

Deepika Padukone is in a celebratory mood on social media as her film Bajirao Mastani completes 5 years since its release today. The actress shared a stunning unseen picture from the sets of the film with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and penned a note on her character Mastani.

The actress also changed her Instagram display picture to one of her looks from the film. Her post dedicated to the movie Deepika while tagging co-stars Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh wrote, “Whether in love or war, Mastani was fuelled by her passion, unafraid to write her own destiny, no matter how perilous the path. She never bowed down and always stood her ground with a fierce dignity and a love so strong that its burning embers seared through every societal constraint, to join both her and her lover's names, for all of eternity...”

The period drama which was the love story of a Maratha warrior, Bajirao played by Ranveer Singh and Mastani played by Deepika Padukone, released in 2015. It clashed at the box office with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Dilwale and emerged the winner.

The film collected Rs. 184 crores at the box office while Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale grossed Rs. 148 crores in total.
