Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has played many different characters on-screen. May it be Ram, Bajirao or Kabir Verma, he has successfully managed to win our hearts each time. Well, in his next film titled ‘83, he will be portraying the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev. The cricketer has helped Ranveer with the training and is quite excited himself. However, Kapil does hope that his unbeaten knock of 175 runs against Zimbabwe in the 1983 World Cup makes it to the film.

In a chat with Neha Dhupia for her show No Filter Neha, the legendary cricketer shared, “That's the only thing I'm looking for. Because, I think, lot of stories comes out when you are in an act of that. You don't know what's happening and how they've come out with the movie or that episode of Zimbabwe inning, I don't know. But, that's what I want to see. Other things, we have seen on television so we know pretty well what's happening.”

While Ranveer will play the role of Kapil, the actor’s wife Deepika Padukone will portray the character of his on-screen wife Romi Dev in Kabir Khan’s directorial. ‘83 was expected to hit theatres on Christmas this year. However, it was recently postponed once again for the first quarter of 2021.
