A Suitable Boy Actress Sadaf Jafar Arrested For Being Part Of CAA Protest, Mira Nair Demands Release

Since the government passed the CAB (Citizenship Amendment Bill) there are protests all over the country. And now, in Lucknow, a former teacher has been arrested in Lucknow for being part of a protest. And now, if media reports are to be believed, this teacher is also part of the Indian-American filmmaker Mira Nair’s upcoming film A Suitable Boy. Her name is Sadaf Jafar. The filmmaker is absolutely appalled by this and she has taken to her official social media account to address this.

Mira wrote on Twitter, “This is our India now - Appalling: our #SuitableBoy actress, Sadaf Jafar, beaten and jailed for peaceful protest in Lucknow! Join me in demanding her release."
