Aamir Khan’s Brother Faissal Recalls The Time His Family Kept Him In House Arrest; Shares Opinion On Sushant’s Case

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise left the entire nation in shock. While some reports suggested that he was boycotted by Bollywood biggies, others stated that he was suffering from depression. It was also alleged that Sushant was bipolar. This is not the first time that theories have been made about an actor’s mental health. Back in 2007, it was claimed that Aamir Khan’s brother Faissal Khan suffered from depression and schizophrenia. Well in a recent interview, Faissal clarified that he’s absolutely fine and also stated that he wouldn't have been able to handle a film on his own if the reports were true.

In a chat with Bollywood Hungama, Faissal recalled that there was a time when his family had forcefully given him medicines for his mental health that he did not need and also kept him under house arrest for one year. He shared that he never gave up hope and had faith that the bad phase will eventually pass. However, when Faissal’s family asked him to give up his signatory rights, he decided that it was time to take a stand for himself. He put his foot down, moved out of the house and moved to court. He got a clean chit for his mental health from JJ Hospital and finally won the case against his family.

Talking about Sushant’s mental health, Faissal shared that if an individual is suffering from bipolar disorder, he/she would not be able to act. However, Sushant won hearts with his spectacular performances and acted in many super hit films. Since this was the case, the actor’s death remains a mystery. Faissal also opened up about nepotism and admitted that there is biasness and groupism in the industry, but at the end of the day it’s your hard work that matters, not the family you belong to. Giving an example of the same, Faissal recalled how Karan Johar had insulted him at Aamir’s 50th birthday.

He shared, “On my brother’s 50th birthday, I was looked down upon by someone, I don’t wish to take the name. But, Karan Johar acted weird with me; he put me down. He insulted me when I was trying to talk to someone and trying to disconnect with the person I was talking to.”
