Aashiqui 2: Karan Wahi, Gautam Gulati And Amit Tandon Tried For Aditya Roy Kapur’s Role, See Their Auditions To Play Rahul Jaykar

While Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor have successfully managed to make a place for themselves in Bollywood with many hit films to their credit, Aashiqui 2 will forever remain special to their fans. Their sizzling on-screen chemistry and powerful performances not only made the audience root for them, but also ignited some serious link-up rumors. While Shraddha shined as the sweet, innocent Aarohi Keshav Shirke, Aditya won hearts with his portrayal of Rahul Jaykar. Watching him on the big screen was an absolute delight!

As the film clocks in 7 years today, let’s take a look back at other actors who auditioned for Aditya and Shraddha’s characters in the film. While we can’t imagine Aashiqui 2 without the two, we can’t help but wonder how the film would have turned out if one of these celebrities had bagged the role instead.

    1. Gautam Gulati:

Gautam will leave you stunned with his performance in this old audition tape and you will end up singing ‘We love, we love Gauti!’ You can literally see the pain in his eyes and the anger in his voice is sure to remind you of his stay in the Bigg Boss 8 house. However, we wish we could see a little bit of his romantic side.

    2. Karan Wahi:

After leaving us in awe with his ‘chocolate boy’ characters in Remix and Dill Mill Gayye, Karan Wahi decided to try his luck at the movies. While he is pretty confident and his dialogue delivery is also great, we can’t help but swoon over him when he lip syncs the hit track ‘Saanson Ki Jarurat Hai Jaise’. Take a look:

    3. Vrinda Kher:

Anupam Kher’s niece Vrinda belongs to a filmy family and is a trained dancer and actor. Her audition is amazing and really convincing. She has even aced the emotional scene. But Vrinda could have done a little better at dialogue delivery, which was pretty important for Aarohi’s character.

    4. Amit Tandon:

The very handsome Amit Tandon is a multi-talented personality and has been winning hearts since 2004, when he began his journey with Indian Idol. His voice is truly magical and after hearing him sing the title track in this clip, we are sure many fans will feel he would have been perfect for the role.

Do you think any of these actors would have done justice to Rahul and Aarohi’s characters in Aashiqui 2?
