Abhay Deol Recalls How Award Functions Nominated Hrithik As Main Lead Of ZNMD, Demoted Him And Farhan

One of the most amazing and inspiring films ever made in Bollywood, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is a true masterpiece. Featuring Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, Zoya Akhtar’s buddy road film not only flaunts an ensemble cast of talented actors and mind-blowing dialogues, but also follows a brilliant and colorful story-line. Every character had a different story and unique personality, which made the film even more interesting to watch.

However, Abhay feels that all the actors of the film were not treated equally when it comes to award functions. In a special social media post, he revealed that Hrithik and Katrina were nominated as ‘actors in a leading role’ in almost all award functions whereas Abhay and Farhan were ‘demoted’ to supporting actors. He shared, “There are many covert and overt ways in which people in the industry lobby against you. In this case it was shamelessly overt. I of course boycotted the awards but Farhan was ok with it.”

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara follows the story of three BFFs, Arjun, Kabir and Imran, who have grown apart over the years, but reunite for a three week road trip before Kabir (Abhay) gets married to Natasha (Kalki). They meet Laila (Katrina) in Spain and Arjun (Hrithik) eventually falls in love with her.
