Shahid Kapoor’s debut film Ishq Vishk made an impeccable mark in the minds of youngsters and also set a trend of what college romance looks like. Amrita Rao played the female lead opposite Shahid in the movie. The story depicted the lives of two college students who fell in love, but in the most complicated way. Amrita played the role of Payal, a girl who was madly in love with Shahid’s character Rajiv in the film. But as we know love stories are never too easy, Rajiv fell in love with another girl, played by Shenaz Treasury.

The film was released in 2003 and was directed by Ken Ghosh. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, The Producer of the Ishq Vishk Ramesh Taurani revealed that "Yes, we are making a sequel to Ishq Vishk. The story is in the scripting stage and could be about a teenage romance or a college romance." while the reports now are that Shahid’s brother Ishaan will not be a part of the sequel. But the female lead of Ishq Vishk Amrita Rao who played the role of Payal wants to see  Sara Ali Khan play her role in the sequel.

While in an interview with IANS, Amrita jokingly said, “The way I look right now, I think I can (be) cast opposite Ishaan (Khatter, brother of Shahid) in 'Ishq Vishk 2'! I am just kidding. Who is going to be the next Payal? Let's rather have a quiz on that." She continued, "Maybe Sara can play Payal and Tara can play Shenaz's character.”

Well, we’ll be more than happy to know if Amrita’s wish comes and also keenly interested to know who will be the new cast in the upcoming sequel of Ishq Vishk. Also, we hope that the sequel makes a great impact on the audience just as the original film did.
