Adipurush Actor Saif Ali Khan Opens Up About His Character; Calls Ravana ‘India’s Satan’

Om Raut’s Adipurush is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most awaited upcoming films of the Indian film industry. Featuring Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita, Sunny Singh as Lakshmana and Saif Ali Khan as Ravana, the film is slated to release on 11^th August next year. Before the big announcement of Kriti joining the cast was shared, ‘who will play Sita’ was one of the biggest mysteries of Bollywood. However, ever since Raut shared that Prabhas and Saif have undergone a remarkable physical transformation, fans are now eager to learn more about their characters. Well, Saif has revealed that he has been working out with his co-star to look bulkier for the film.

In an interview with Film Companion, Saif revealed, “He (Om Raut) is going to make me larger than I am, but again, that might be giving it away. There will be some trickery involved, but a lot of it is real. He wants us to train and look particularly tough. The point is that Ravana is India’s Satan, he’s the demon king. And I guess what drives him is vanity. He is the personification of vanity. Everything comes from there – the doom that he prays for, the kingdom that he wants. His whole outlook is just incredibly incredibly clouded, blind and vain. He is a monster. He is strong and fun to play, in that sense. The whole point of the story is to overcome the monster.”

The actor explained that the magnum opus is about Lord Rama overcoming Ravana, so the stronger the villain is, the more of an achievement it is for the hero. Saif went on to add, “I will tell you one thing though – I do have ten heads at points, which is one of the cool things. It is wonderfully presented.” Well, that is enough information to pique our interest!
