Aditya Roy Kapoor And John Abraham Finalised For Ek Villain 2; Film To Go On Floors In The Second Half Of 2020

Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh starrer Ek Villain had made quite a remarkable mark in Bollywood. Be it Riteish's performance as the Villain or Sidharth-Shraddha's chemistry, the film became an instant hit. Such was its success that the makers had planned to make this a franchise and come up with a second part as well. Rumours of who would be cast did the rounds, however, nothing was confirmed. And now almost 5 years after the release of Ek Villain, the makers have finally confirmed the second installment.

According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the second part would not be a sequel but would tell an entirely different story. In fact, John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapoor will team up for the first time and will be pitted against each other in this film. The female protagonist has not yet been confirmed.

According to a source close to the production, "Both John and Adi had heard Mohit’s idea a while ago and were excited to come on board as the premise is something both haven’t explored before. The final narration took place recently, following which the two actors signed the film.” He further added that the film "will have an intense love story at its core."

The film will go on floors in the second half of 2020. Aditya Roy Kapoor will be seen in Malang, which will also be directed by Mohit Suri and in Sadak 2 opposite Alia Bhatt. John on the other hand, will be seen in Satyameva Jayate 2, Mumbai Saga and Attack.
