The moment Masakali 2.0 hit the internet, many knew how brutally it would be trilled. Afterall, it is not always easy to see your favourite songs get butchered by the trend of remixes. There had been hilarious memes doing the rounds, but on a more serious note, music maestro and the composer of the original Maskali, A.R. Rahman expressed his displeasure vocally through his tweet. And now, even lyricist Prasoon Joshi and the director of Delhi 6, Rakesh Omprakash Mehra, also expressed their displeasure over the song.

Prasoon Joshi revealed how close all the songs of Delhi 6, including Masakali had been to not just him but the entire team and how saddened he has been to see the new one. He wrote, “All songs written for #Delhi6 including #Masakali close to heart, sad to see when original creation of @arrahman @prasoonjoshi_&singer @_MohitChauhan insensitively utilised. Upto the conscience of @Tseries. Hopefully the fans will stand for originality.” Check out his tweet:

Rakesh Omprakash Mehra retweeted both Prasoon Joshi and A.R. Rahman’s tweets. He too stood up for the original. Here’s what he said:

Even we hope that this trend of remixes actually come to an end and original creations can prevail. Earlier, Tanishk Bagchi drew A.R.Rahman’s ire when he had remixed the Humma song for OK Jaanu and the song featured alongside other A.R.Rahman compositions.
