After Dear Comrade, Karan Johar Buys The Hindi Rights Of Vijay Deverakonda’s World Famous Lover

Vijay Deverakonda gained pan Indian and worldwide fan following after the release of the controversial film, Arjun Reddy. Though the way the film had been made had opened arguments on whether the storytelling glorified a violent character or not, there was no denying that Vijay’s performance received praise from one and all. Arjun Reddy was remade in Hindi as Kabir Singh and it became one of the biggest blockbuster of 2019. Since then, Bollywood has been on the lookout to remake his films. Karan Johar had bought the rights of Dear Comrade even before it released. And now, it looks like he has bought the Hindi remake rights of Vijay’s last film, World Famous Lover as well.

If reports are to be believed, then Karan had recently seen the film and felt that it would do really well and work for the Bollywood audience as well. However, an official confirmation of the same is still not been made. Earlier, it was said that he bought the rights of Dear Comrade well before its release.  But the film failed to do well and flopped both at the Telugu and the worldwide box-office and no official announcement of the same was made!

World Famous Lover had been directed by Kranthi Madhav and  had Catherina Tresa, Raashi Khanna, Aishwarya Rajesh and Izabelle Leite in the lead. Karan is right now busy with Takht, and he has a number of films that he would produce up for release as well.
