After Radhe, Makers Of Maidaan & Antim Considering A Pay-Per-View Digital Release Alongside Cinema Halls?

Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is busy creating records after its pay-per-view release on Zee Plex. After the Eid offering, the news is that Salman’s next, Antim which also stars his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, could also be headed for an OTT release.

Instead of meeting fans in theatres this Eid, Salman Khan followed the OTT wave and decided to release Radhe directly in digital with cinema halls remaining mostly shut across the country. While the move was risky, it seems to have paid off well with the film registering over 4.2 million views on its opening day all thanks to the actor’s star power.

A Bollywood Hungama report claims that Zee Plex has now approached several other filmmakers with the proposition of a hybrid release like Radhe after its roaring success online alongside theaters where it released. These include Ajay Devgn led Maidaan and Salman and Aayush Sharma’s Antim: The final Truth. The report also claims that Ranveer Singh led 83 and Akshay Kumar led Sooryavanshi could also be in talks to take the digital plus theatrical route amidst the raging pandemic.

A few South films are also said to be in talks with the screening platform.
