Mukesh Khanna Lashes Out At Saif Ali Khan

After Saif Ali Khan's Apology For 'Humane Ravan' Comments, Mukesh Khanna Reacts: 'Is There A Conspiracy Here As Well?'

Mahabharat star Mukesh Khanna has lashed out at Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan for his recent interview where he said that his upcoming film Adipurush will show a ‘humane’ side of Ravan. The actor who is essaying the role of Lankesh in this Om Raut magnum opus said that the film will justfy why Ravan abducted Sita and also the war with Ram.

The statement, however, boiled over in a huge controversy online and after the backlash the actor issued a statement apologizing for his comments and stated that the facts will not be depicted without any distortions. Muskesh Khanna, however, has refused to be accepting of Saif’s apology and posted a long note along with a video with his thought on the whole controversy.

In his long note, Mukesh wrote in Hindi, “Saif Ali Khan said in an interview, that playing Lakesh in the mega-budget film Adipurush will be interesting. In the film Ravan will not be shown as bad but as humane and entertaining, that they will justify Sita’s abduction. I don’t know why Saif feel it’s so easy. Ravan is no ball that you can hit whatever manner you please. I don’t know whether to call it his silliness or foolishness. He doesn’t know he’s playing with the beliefs of millions of Indians, or maybe he knows and yet he’s saying it deliberately. Or maybe it is the audacity of the self proclaimed intellectual director and producers who dare to make such a film.”

The actor added that filmmakers won’t dare to play with the beliefs of any another religion and added,  “Will say it again, try toying around with the characters of any other religion in this manner, and portray the good as bad and the bad as good, you will be beaten up by them. In the same way Ravan is no Ram so why portray him as humane? Is there a conspiracy here as well? Or is it a tried and tested film promotion strategy. I don’t know, the audience will have to think for themselves. I felt hurt so I am saying it, you think as well and see it hurts or not.”

The actor concluded his note by disapproving of Saif’s apology and added that he should not have made such remarks in the first place. “Now the breaking news is that Saif has issued a written apology. Wow, the English have founded a beautiful word ‘sorry’. Shoot an arrow, throw a bomb, hit someone and then say ‘soory’. I don’t accept it. Why didn’t you think before speaking?”
