Riteish To Play A Vertically Challenged Man In Marjaavan

After Shah Rukh Khan In Zero, Now Riteish Deshmukh Will Play A Vertically Challenged Man In Marjaavaan!

We had been aware of the fact that the Ek Villain co-stars, Riteish Deshmukh and Sidharth Malhotra would be reuniting for Milap Milan Zaveri’s Marjaavaan. There was also news that here as well, Riteish will play a villain. And now, the first look posters of both SIdharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh is here and it is the later that really got us intrigued!

Well, just like SRK in Zero, Riteish has taken the challenging role of playing a vertically challenged man in the film. He will play Vishnu, a three-foot tall man, in the film. Check out his character poster here:

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, director Milap Zaveri said,

"We decided to make his villain a three-foot-tall but larger-than-life midget with a wicked sense of humour. His Vishnu is arrogant and thinks he is invincible."

In fact, he has also revealed that there was extensive use of VFX and that each scene that involved Riteish had to be shot five times!

“We shot Riteish’s scenes against the green screen and without it for perspective. His eyeline has to match that of others so Riteish shot looking up, while his co-stars looked down. We couldn’t use two-three camera setups for Riteish’s scenes like we did for others. So, every shot had to be taken five times."

Marjaavaan also stars Tara Sutaria as the female lead along with Rakul Preet SIngh. The film, that was to release on 2nd October, has been pushed for a 22nd October release!
