Ajay Devgn Will Not Be A Part Of Prabhas-Saif Ali Khan Starrer Adipurush, Reveals Source

For some time, rumors were doing the rounds that not only Saif, but Ajay Devgn too has signed up for Bhushan Kumar's Adipurush and the actor would be playing the role of Lord Shiva in the movie. However, a source close to Ajay has denied reports of the actor being a part of the film, He also confirms that the Singham actor has too many projects lined up for his upcoming releases.

The source says, “After Saif’s name was announced, many thought that Om Raut will reunite with his Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior lead actor Ajay Devgn as well in Adipurush. However, there’s no truth to these reports. Ajay is not a part of Adipurush. He already has too many films on his plate. He has 10 days of work left on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi (co-starring Alia Bhatt).

The source further adds, that apart from acting, Ajay also has to focus on the films that are produced under his banner. He has to complete the remaining shoot of Bhuj – The Pride Of India so that it’s ready for release on Disney+ Hotstar. And then he has to film for a major schedule of Maidaan. 

The film Adipurush will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, who also backed Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior. Kumar revealed that they plan to begin the shooting from January 2021. Meanwhile, Om Raut confirmed that Prabhas will play the role of Lord Rama and Saif will be seen playing Lord Ravana. Adipurush is expected to hit the theatres in 2022.
