    Ajay Devgn to resume Maidaan shoot in October; will recreate the 1962 Asian Games final match

    Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has been incredibly busy with back to back shoots of his upcoming films. The actor, who recently won hearts with his performance in Bhuj: The Pride of India, has multiple projects in the pipeline. One of the most awaited films of the lot is Maidaan, in which Ajay will portray the role of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Well, Amit Sharma’s biographical sports film is almost ready. According to latest buzz, the team will begin the last schedule next month.

    A report shared by Mid Day has revealed that the team will kick off Maidaan’s last schedule, which will be 25 days long, in October. This month, the makers will focus on reconstructing the set, which was damaged due to Cyclone Tauktae in May. A source was quoted saying, “The shoot is expected to begin around October 25 and will continue till the first week of December, with breaks in between to recure the football field. Ajay will shoot the climax, which includes recreating the 1962 Asian Games final match in Jakarta where India bagged the gold medal.”

    Other than Maidaan, Ajay will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt, S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR, slice-of-life comedy Thank God and Mayday alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Rakul Preet Singh.
