    Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God sequel is an exciting addition to the star’s long list of upcoming projects. Joining Akshay this time will be actor Pankaj Tripathi instead of Paresh Rawal who led the original and the project has also got a new filmmaker.

    Filmmaker Umesh Shukla who helmed the 2012 film will not be returning for the Oh My God 2 which will instead be directed by filmmaker Amit Rai according to a Pinkvilla report. Multiple ideas for the projects were apparently brainstormed until Amit’s idea and screenplay got greenlit by Akshay, who is co-producing the project, as the perfect plot which will is also relevant according to the portal’s source.

    The 2012 satirical comedy had Paresh Rawal playing a shop owner who sues god after his shop is destroyed in an earthquake. His character gets help from Akshay who plays Lord Krishna.

    The comedy will reportedly go on floors in September and the script has already been locked. Amit Rai is known for his 2010 film Road To Sangam which starred Om Puri and Paresh Rawal.

    Oh My God 2 joins several titles in Akshay Kumar’s growing list of upcoming projects which also includes titles like Ram Setu, Bachchan Pandey, Raksha Bandhan, Atrangi Re, Bell Bottom, Sooryavanshi and Prithiviraj.
