Akshay Kumar Takes Huge Strides In The 100 Crore Club, But Salman Khan Leads The Pack

It was back in 2008 when Aamir Khan founded the 100 Crore Club with Ghajini. Ever since then, a staggering count of 90 films have scored a century, double century or a triple century, with Baahubali - The Conclusion hitting it out of the park by establishing a 500 Crore Club. There are a handful of stars and superstars though who have the maximum count of such centuries between them. While Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are at the top of the game, Ajay Devgn too is following close behind. Let's take a look.

Salman Khan - 15 [Dabangg 3, Bharat, Race 3, Tiger Zinda Hai, Tubelight, Sultan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Kick, Jai Ho, Dabangg 2, Ek Tha Tiger, Bodyguard, Ready, Dabangg]

It has been an unbelievable run for Salman Khan ever since he scored his first century with Dabangg. From then till now, 15 films of his have entered the 100 Crore Club, and that too without any interruption whatsoever. So much so that even his weak films like Tubelight, Race 3 and Dabangg 3 have achieved this feat. He will next be seen in Radhe which is scheduled to hit theatres on Eid.

Akshay Kumar - 14 [Good Newwz, Housefull 4, Mission Mangal, Kesari, 2.0, Gold, Toilet-Ek Prem Katha, Jolly LLB 2, Rustom, Housefull 3, Airlift, Rowdy Rathore, Holiday, Housefull2]

Akshay Kumar is making huge strides. From Airlift to Good Newwz, he has seen 12 back to back successes already. In fact, it could well have been one uninterrupted run as well if not for Padman, which fell short of the 100 crores mark. Still, he has 14 films already in there with four centuries in 2019 itself. His next film is Laxmmi Bomb which will clash with Radhe.

Ajay Devgn - 10 [De De Pyaar De, Total Dhamaal, Raid, Golmaal Again, Shivaay, Singham Returns, Son of Sardaar, Bol Bachchan, Singham, Golmaal 3]

Ajay Devgn has been Mr. Consistent right through his career, a trait he has followed for almost three decades now. His last four releases have been centuries and franchises like Golmaal, Singham are contributing majorly to his 100 Crore Club films. Though intermittently there may have been an occasional Baadshaho, his Tanhaji-The Unsung Warrior should be huge.

Shah Rukh Khan - 7 [Raees, Dilwale, Happy New Year, Chennai Express, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Don 2, Ra. One]

Post Ra. One, Shah Rukh Khan was scoring centuries consistently. However, after Dilwale, his run became a bit erratic. Though Raees still managed to enter the 100 Crore Club, failure of films like Fan, Jab Harry Met Sejal and Zero hit him hard. That said, it is just a matter of time before Shah Rukh Khan is back to scoring biggies because 2020 is predicted to be a turning point for him.

Aamir Khan - 6 [Thugs of Hindostan, Dangal, PK, Dhoom: 3, 3 Idiots, Ghajini]

He comes, he strikes big, and then he waits before he is ready to strike again. Except for Thugs of Hindostan which failed badly (even though it went past the 150 crores mark), it has been a rather spotless run for Aamir Khan ever since he founded the 100 Crore Club with Ghajini. In fact he is also the founding father of 200 Crore Club [3 Idiots] and 300 Crore Club [Dangal].

Hrithik Roshan - 6 [War, Super 30, Kaabil, Bang Bang, Krrish 3, Agneepath]

He is one superstar who deserves to be seen in many more biggies. Someone who has done relatively lesser films when compared to his counterparts, Hrithik Roshan has six centuries to his name in a career spanning almost two decades. This year, he has already scored a century [Super 30] and a triple century [War]. One now hopes that he picks his next biggie soon enough.

Riteish Deshmukh - 6 [Housefull 4, Total Dhamaal, Housefull 3, Ek Villain, Grand Masti, Housefull 2]

Riteish Deshmukh finds himself right up there with as many as six centuries. None of these has been a solo hero film though, as Riteish has been excelling quite well in multi-starrers. One film that can be said to be closest to Riteish's own is Ek Villain. Other than this, all five centuries scored by Riteish belong to comedy genre with Housefull series at the top.

Ranveer Singh - 5 [Gully Boy, Simmba, Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Ram Leela]

Ranveer Singh has now scored three back to back centuries and each one of these belongs to different genres. Interestingly, three out of his five centuries have been with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The newest superstar on the block, Ranveer would next be seen in '83, one of his most ambitious projects till date as he is enacting the part of living legend Kapil Dev.

Varun Dhawan - 4 [Judwaa 2, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Dilwale, Any Body Can Dance 2]

He was pretty much enjoying back to back successes before under performance of October, ordinary response to Sui Dhaaga and failure of Kalank pegged him back. Still, he has four centuries to his name where except for Dilwale, rest all have been his solo starrers. He would next be seen in Coolie No. 1 and Street Dancer 3D, which are set to raise his century count.

Ranbir Kapoor - 4 [Sanju, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Barfi!]

Ranbir Kapoor has been around for more than a decade and has always been touted to be one of the most promising superstars around. He would have managed many more centuries had he been careful about his choices and also if he was doing more films. Nonetheless, he hit jackpot with Sanju which turned out to be huge. He now has biggies like Brahmastra and Shamshera lined up next.

Abhishek Bachchan - 4 [Housefull 3, Happy New Year, Dhoom: 3, Bol Bachchan]

Though he hasn't quite scored a solo century yet, he did play the title role in Bol Bachchan, where he had a double role of sorts. Abhishek has also been one of the leads in three biggies which entered the 100 Crore Club. Each of these films has belonged to a different genre and now he is prepping for his next, titled The Big Bull.
