Akshay Kumar to start shooting for Dostana 2 next year: Reports

ne of the biggest and shocking news of the year had been Kartik Aaryan's ouster from the Dharma film, Dostana 2. It was one of the most important films in the actor's kitty. While there have been several rumours floating around, the actor has maintained a dignified silence. Meanwhile, reports had also been doing the rounds that Akshay Kumar had been roped in instead. Now, it is being said that he will begin the shoot for the film next year!

According to a report in Spotboye, Akshay has said yes when Dharma approached him with the project and also allocated dates in 2022. A source was quoted saying, "Akshay has said yes to the project and plans to shoot the film next year, as he has other film commitments to fulfill currently."

Akshay has several projects at hand and while some are ready for release, a few are in the post-production while the actor has to shoot some more including Raksha Bandhan, Ram Setu, Mission Lion, and reportedly Oh My God 2.

Earlier it was being reported that KJo approached Akshay to avoid nepotism debate. A report said, “Karan Johar wants an outsider to avoid any insider vs outsider debate giving a rebirth to nepotism. Hence the first choice is Akshay. But if things don't work out, he will move ahead to explore the collaboration with other actors. Of the 5 shortlisted names, 4 are outsiders and hence, a safe bet at the moment. The core idea is to get an outsider replaced by an outsider.”
