    Akshay Kumar’s Padman created a lot of talk about menstrual hygiene when it released in 2018. The film is still creating ripples of change in society as a man from Khor village in Madhya Pradesh ended up setting up his own manufacturing unit for sanitary pads and employing 15 women from the surrounding area.

    Bhupendra Khoiwal set up a manufacturing unit some six months ago and named it after his daughter as Aishwarya Enterprises. The 37-year-old was supported in his endeavor to educate women in his village by his family but the task was still not easy. Bhupendra faced resistance from women in the village and only could get 15 women to work at the unit.

    Selling economical sanitary pads, 8 for Rs. 20 against a market price of Rs. 40 he has truly set an example, Talking to Deccan Herald about his venture he said, "We educate women about the advantages of sanitary pads and caution them about the health hazards of using cloth during menstruation."

    Bhupendra has already sold over 50,000 pads to vendors in Bhopal and now plans to expand his venture. Akshay Kumar’s whose film severed as the inspiration behind the venture read the happy news and shared it on Twitter saying, ‘Definitely #GoodNewwz of the day for me :) Very inspiring...we need more such real heroes’.
