'Acche din' have finally returned for Bollywood after a year-and-half since the pandemic struck and it is all thanks to Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. The Akshay Kumar starrer has now officially entered Bollywood’s 100 crores club in just five days and has become the first film post the pandemic to do so.

Sooyravanshi remains steady even on weekdays in India and is also flourishing overseas. The action extravaganza raked in over Rs. 77 crores post Diwali on its first weekend and thereafter earned an impressive Rs. 14.51 crores on its first Monday. On Tuesday the film has collected nearly Rs. 12 crores at the box office taking its total to Rs. 103 crores approximately according to a Box Oddice India report.

The movie also stars Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn, who preceded Akshay in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, in extended cameos while Katrina Kaif is the leading lady of the movie. Sooryavanshi was all set to arrive in theatres in March 2020 when the nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19 was imposed.

Makers of the project held on to the film for nearly 20 months to release it in theaters and the wait has definitely paid off. In the interim, Akshay had two films releasing Laxmii which got a digital release and Bell Bottom which was released earlier this year after the second wave of Covid-19.

Rohit Shetty will follow Sooryavanshi with Ajay Devgn’s Singham 3 as the next film in the franchise which is expected to be shot in Kashmir.
