Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi Eyeing The Good Friday Weekend For Release As Cinemas Allowed To Operate At Capacity

In what is a big relief for the producers, exhibitors and cinema owners the central government has now allowed theatres to operate at capacity from February 1. The eased restrictions based on fresh guidelines mean that cinema will soon return to their former glory and some much-awaited entertainers that were stalled due to the Covid-19 pandemic will finally see the light of day.

While many films like Salman Khan’s Radhe, John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate 2, S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR and Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan have already booked their slot on the 2021 calendar, an ABP report claims that Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi is eyeing April 2 for its arrival in theatres. The makers are looking to encash the Good Friday holiday that weekend.

The ambitious action drama from Rohit Shetty’s blockbuster cop universe was due to release in March last year and soon after its trailer was released the Covid-19 induced locked down stalled the film for an entire year.

The announcement from the makers on this good news is still awaited but since the theatres will now operate at 100% capacity it will hopefully come sometime soon. Many more such announcements from the film industry are also sure to follow including the release date of Ranveer Singh’s much awaited sports drama ’83.
