Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi Pushed To 2021; Ranveer Singh Starrer ‘83 To Hit Theatres On Christmas

While most filmmakers decided to opt for direct digital releases of their much-anticipated projects, some continued to have faith that theatres would soon reopen. They wanted the audience to see their films on the big screen and have a wonderful cinematic experience that they had planned when they started making the masterpiece. Well, many theatres have finally reopened but now the question is if audiences would go and watch a film during the pandemic. While the debate to release or not to release continues in the minds of makers, a decision has been made for Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi.

In a report shared by Mumbai Mirror, Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibasish Sarkar was quoted saying that Akshay’s cop drama has been pushed to 2021 whereas Ranveer Singh starrer ‘83 will release on the decided date. He shared, “We definitely don't want to change the date of '83 for Sooryavanshi. The sport drama is still slated to release on Christmas. We have to decide on the new date of Sooryavanshi with the director and actor, but the film should release between January and March.”

For the uninitiated, original plans of the makers was to release Akshay’s Sooryavanshi on Diwali and Ranveer’s sports drama ‘83 on Christmas. While the Rohit Shetty directorial will not get a chance to release on the occasion of Diwali, another Akshay starrer will be premiering on Disney+Hotstar in November. Laxmmi Bomb, also featuring Kiara Advani, is all set to take over our television/laptop screens on 9th November.
