Ali Faizal Supports Girlfriend Richa After Payal Ghosh's Allegations, Says 'Your Resilience Have Touched Many People'

Ali Faizal recently took to his social media handle to extend his support and defend his girlfriend Richa Chaddha after her name was dragged in Payal Ghosh’s allegations of sexual misconduct against Anurag Kashyap. Ali shared the official press statement of Richa’s lawyer Saveena Bedi Sachar on Monday and wrote that Richa has always championed justice for women.

In an interview on Saturday, Payal Ghosh has accused Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct in ‘2014-2015’, an allegation which he calls “baseless”. She also claimed that there were other female artistes who also got intimate with the director, including Richa Chadha. Richa’s lawyer has issued an official statement on Monday, saying that the actor has taken an ‘appropriate legal action’ against Payal for falsely dragging her into the controversial matter.

Now, Richa’s beau Ali Faizal has come out in the support of his girlfriend, he reshared the statement on his Instagram handle and wrote a long note, telling all the good deeds Richa has done for the society, he wrote, ''My love, you, who has stood up for women time and time again, today had to go through this ordeal. And yet, you come out strong as ever. My partner, your resilience, your kindness, and empathy have touched many people, and I have had the fortune of being witness to that over the time I've known you. The battles you’ve fought to create an equal society that isn't fractured by hate. And within that to be able to champion women all along ... and keep your art at par with the best, takes courage and nerves of steel. I am so proud of you because I know you won't stop standing up for those in need, especially women who’ve lost their voices within the many patriarchal setups we face today the world over,”

He added, “I believe every voice must be heard. I believe in dissent. But I also believe in the power of truth and justice. They indeed prevail. I believe in using our right to speak up but with utmost responsibility. I believe that we as a society need to empower our women so that their fearless voices echo in all its glory and yet with care and gentleness,” I say this today, not because you’re my partner but because people like you make the world a better place and we need you. . Love you . With you. Always,” 

As soon as the post was shared by Ali, Richa commented, “Grateful for you! Today and always.” Choreographer Lauren Gottlieb also wrote, “Richas’s name being taken like that was terrible. But THIS, what you have spoken about her in support this is a relationship we can all look up to! God bless you both.” 

Meanwhile, earlier today day, Richa also stated that Payal Ghosh "refused to take delivery" of a legal notice she sent her on Monday. She posted on Instagram, "Update: a soft copy of the legal notice has been sent to Ms. Ghosh. My person along with a person from my lawyer's office, went to hand-deliver the hard copy of the notice to her residence, which she/representative refused to take delivery of. We have their refusal on video."

The Director, Anurag, too, shared an official statement  from his lawyer, Priyanka Khimani, that claimed the 48-year-old director has been “fully advised of his rights and remedies in law and intends to pursue them to the fullest extent.” Declining the allegations on Sunday, Anurag called Payal’s statement an attempt to “silence” him for his straight opinions.
