Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh to hit a hattrick with Baiju Bawra after Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani?

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh seem to be Bollywood’s new golden pair on the big screen. The duo started out by doing advertisements together and amassed a huge fan club when they did Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy together. While the duo is already on their second film together and is shooting for Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, the news is that they already have a third project lined up together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra.

Ranveer's name being finalized for playing the titular role has been doing the rounds for some time now but Alia, however, seems to be the latest addition to the cast as the female lead. Earlier there were reports about Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone also being approached for the project.

Now a Bollywood Hungama has a source claiming that Ranbir wasn’t ever offered the film and Ranveer was always SLB’s first choice for Baiju Bawra since the character needs a certain madness that only he can bring to life.

As far as Alia’s casting is concerned, the actress who not so long ago wrapped up Gangubai Kathiawadi with the filmmaker is said to have loved the script of Baiju Bawra and insisted be a part of the project and was cast by the filmmaker as she fits the part.
