    Superstar Rishi Kapoor bid adieu to the world today after fighting against cancer like a true warrior in a two year long battle. While celebrities of the film industry mourned the loss of one of the finest actors Indian cinema has ever seen, the Kapoor family performed his last rites at Chandanwadi Crematorium in Kalbadevi, Mumbai. Abhishek Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Alia Bhatt amongst others attended the funeral and extended their support to Ranbir and Neetu, while Rishi’s daughter Riddhima connected to them via video call.

    Over the last two years, Alia stood by Ranbir’s side as his pillar of strength and often accompanied him to meet Rishi in New York, where he was undergoing treatment. Remembering their time together, the actress penned a heartfelt note calling Chintu ji a beautiful storyteller, a cinema lover, a passionate tweeter and a father. She also took to her social media handle to share a wonderful throwback picture of Rishi and Neetu along with a childhood picture of Ranbir and his father. Alia called Ranbir and Rishi ‘beautiful boys’ and we couldn’t agree more. Take a look:



    In the morning, Neetu Kapoor and Alia had shared an official statement on behalf of the family, stating that the actor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am on 30th April. They further requested fans to respect the laws that are in force due to the coronavirus lockdown.
