Alia Bhatt Opens Up About Her South Debut With RRR, Says She Begged SS Rajamouli To Cast Her

Alia Bhatt has already conquered Bollywood with her talent and grace and now the actress is headed south to work with SS Rajamouli in his next big project RRR. The Telugu film starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in leading roles will also have a cameo by Ajay Devgn. RRR is being made at a budget of 350 crores which is much bigger than Baahubali 2 and Alia Bhatt for the first time opened up about being a part of this extravagant project.

The actress is very excited about making her South debut and revealed that she actually begged Rajamouli to cast her in any project that he might have. In an interview with PTI she said, "I had bumped into Rajamouli sir at an airport and I begged him that whatever part he has (for me) I will do it. That time he had not cast for the girl yet." Even though Alia is extremely busy in her schedule with mega projects like Bramhastra, Takht and Sadak 2, she was willing to manage time from anywhere to work with him.

The director, fortunately, was already looking at casting her, "He said he was anyway talking about my timelines. So I told him whatever be the timelines, I will make it happen. We made it happen." She even went on to reveal why she was so eager to work with him and it is not just because of Baahubali 2. “He was on my bucket list of directors. Not only because of Baahubali, of course, that was a very big factor but also because of his imagination. Right from Magadheera to Eega, these concepts are simply mind-blowing. He is truly an artist and understands his audience, the people he is making the film for. His emotions and story are so powerful, likewise, with RRR, he has a very powerful story to tell."

Alia will soon join the cast to begin shooting for the film in Delhi and has already started prepping for it by learning Telugu. Matching her enthusiasm, we too are eagerly looking forward to the film that will release in July 2020.
