Alia Bhatt Starrer Sanjay Leela Bhansali Film Gangubai Kathiawadi Aims For An Eid 2021 Release?

Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubi Kathiawadi is in the last stages of production and this Sanjay Leela Bhansali extravaganza can be expected in theatres sooner than later. The actress who is on a break enjoying the picturesque locales of the Maldives with her best friends will reportedly wrap up the film this week.

With the shoot nearly wrapped up Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy finding a release date on the calendar and is seemingly keen on releasing the film on Eid 2021 according to a Spotboye report.  Post the pandemic the shoot for Gangubai Kathiawadi resumed in October and the last schedule was picked up in January.

Eid 2021 is already booked by Salman Khan for his film Radhe: Your Most wanted Bhai and John Abraham for Satyamev Jayate 2. While date already in the news for a major box office clash, Gangubai Kathiawadi’s addition to the mix will surely take a toll on all three films if Sanjay Leela Bhansali decides to go forward with the date.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai who ran a brothel in Kamatipura and had powerful connections in the underworld. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film will also have a cameo by Ajay Devgn who will reportedly also be shooting his scenes in the final few days of production.
