Alia Bhatt To Star In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kothewali After Inshallah Gets Shelved?

It looks like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt are determined to collaborate for a film. So even after their project, Inshallah, got shelved indefinitely due to unknown reasons, Alia had been spotted outside Bhansali's office. And now, if reports are to be believed, then Sanjay  Leela Bhansali and Alia are working together! And they will collaborate for Gangubai Kothewali.

If you are an ardent follower of Bollywood news, then you would remember that this is the same project for which Priyanka Chopra was in talks with Bhansali. There were several reports claiming that PeeCee might work with Bhansali again for this project, but later it was said that she had lost the project after she locked horns with Salman Khan by walking out of Bharat!

A source close to the production team said, "Bhansali had committed to working with Alia and is not one to go back on his word. Owing to his creative fallout with Salman Khan and Inshallah being subsequently shelved, Alia ended up getting the raw deal.”

The film is based on a chapter from S Husain Zaidi's Mafia Queens Of Mumbai and revolves around a brothel owner of Kamathipura, Gangubai. If Alia is indeed doing this film, it would be interesting to see her in such a completely different role! Right now, the actress is busy with Brahmastra, Sadak 2 and Takht.
