Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi To Be The First Film To Resume Shoot After Lockdown? Here’s What We Know

When the nationwide lockdown was declared to help stop the spread of novel coronavirus, shoots of many upcoming films and television shows was postponed indefinitely and production was stalled. Citizens were requested to follow safety guidelines, practice social-distancing and stay at home unless there is some extremely urgent reason to step out. One such film which was affected by the lockdown was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring the very talented Alia Bhatt. Well, latest reports suggest that Gangubai Kathiawadi might be the first film to resume shooting post the lockdown.

In a chat with ETimes, Ashok Dubey, FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) general secretary revealed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was already shooting in Film City and his set is still there. He shared, “So the possibility is that his movie will be the first to resume shoot with the necessary precautions, once the permission is granted by CM. Boney Kapoor ji’s film was being shot in Madh Island, his sets have been covered and he may begin shoot once the lockdown ends. A lot of filmmakers have kept their sets intact, waiting to start shoot post lockdown.”

The authorities of the film industry are still waiting to receive a go ahead from Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. However, things won’t be the same as before even post the lockdown because coronavirus is going to take some time to leave us alone. Precautions such as masks, gloves and sanitizer tunnels will be present at the sets and minimal crew would be allowed.
