Alia Bhatt's Upcoming Film With Resul Pookutty Based On The Legend On Baba Harbajan Singh Gets Its Title

Quite a few months back, news had come that Alia Bhatt would be doing a film that would mark Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty's directorial debut. There had been no official announcement of the same and reports suggest that it would happen after the actress wraps up her part in RRR: Rise Roar Revolt. Now, we are also getting to hear that the makers have finalized on the name of the project.

The film would be about Baba Harbajan Singh, who was martyred during the Indo-Sino War and lgend has it that his soul still protects the border. A source quoted by Bollywood Hungama said, "Resul has decided to call his film Piharwa, which means beloved. The film is a love saga set at the backdrop of Indo-China war that took place in 1967 at Nathula. Alia will play the romantic interest whose life is connected between the two eras. Alia has given her nod to the film but currently, due to COVID and no clarity on her prior commitments, she has not been able to allot proper dates to it yet."

The same legend was shown in the short film Plus Minus, where Bhivan Bam played the character. Alia is currently in Hyderabad, filming for RRR. She also has Brahmastra, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Takht in her kitty.
