The extremely talented and very hard-working Amit Sadh began his journey in the magical land of entertainment with television soap Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr in 2002. After working in television for many years, Amit went on to feature in Bollywood films such as Phoonk 2 and Maximum. However, it was with Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che that he rose to prominence. Also starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkummar Rao, the film emerged as the turning point of his career and introduced Bollywood to a star. Amit is currently winning hearts with Amazon Prime’s latest web series Breathe: Into The Shadows.

In a recent chat with Bollywood Hungama, the actor remembered his struggle and revealed, “I didn’t leave television to go to the movies. They banned me! They called each other and said isko kaam mat do. Toh fir maine kaha achha, nahi de rahe ho main bhi picture mein jaaunga.” The actor recalled an experience and shared, “I had a producer, very big TV producer. He called me and said tumhaare bare mein bohot sunn rahe hain. Tum aisa karte ho waisa karte ho, tum actor bohot ache ho lekin. Maine usko bhi bol diya sir galat karoge, ladunga.” But then he grew up and fell in love with the craft. Amit realized he does not need to fight and decided to channel all his anger into his passion for acting. He then met good people and his life changed. He didn’t change, he just realized there’s no need to fight.

Amit also opened up about late actor Sushant, who also successfully transitioned from television to Bollywood. Talking about how he wants to remember Sushant for the rest of his life, Amit shared, “I will, I have to. Kai Po Che is like the turning point of my life. The way we were, all three of us—Raj, Sushant and me— we were at our purest. And whatever I have felt as an actor filming that, I have never felt that again and I know I will never feel that again. Sushant was a big part of that. We all started together so that makes it more special. And I love the art! I think he’s left a legacy and through that we’ll remember him.”

While there are many who are heartbroken by Sushant’s untimely demise, there are some out there who jumped into controversies regarding the actor's death. Talking about them, Amit stated: “I’m not a violent person but I want to thappad them. I want to tell them to shut up and I hope when I see them I don’t slap them.” He went on to add, “They should not jump in. They should have dignity. That’s how the world is I guess.”

On the work front, Amit is all set to impress the audience with his next film Yaara, co-starring Vidyut Jammwal, Shruti Haasan, Vijay Varma and Kenny Basumatary. It will be releasing on Zee5 on 30th July. He will also be sharing the screen with Vidya Balan and Sanya Malhotra in Shakuntala Devi.
