Amrita Rao Admits She Refused Big Movie Offers Due To Discomfort, Says She Was Never One To Call Up Directors For Work

Soon to be mom Amrita Rao has had a pretty memorable journey in Bollywood this far. The actress who got noticed after starring opposite Shahid Kapoor in Ishq Vishq looks back at her journey with pride where there were no godfathers but just sheer hard work and conviction.

The Vivah actress may have become more focused on her personal life for now but she accepts that she has refused the biggest of offers just because she wasn’t comfortable with certain scenes. Talking to Times Of India Amrita says, “I could have missed out on many opportunities where I was right on the top of the casting list, however, I cannot also deny that I have never had to ask directors for work. I've always been approached for and had the privilege of refusing the biggest of offers because I was not comfortable with doing certain intimate scenes. My journey has been easy yet difficult because I had to carve my own path with trial and error. But the taste of being self-made is the sweetest.”

The actress also spoke about her link-up rumours with Shahid Kapoor that started floating while they were cast in Vivah together. Amrita says that they were no more than collogues on their various film projects and no matter how much the audience wanted to see them together they were not really even friends off screen.  Talking about their equation Amrita said, “We have tremendous respect for each other as artists and recently Shahid also expressed on social media that he misses working with me, which was very sweet. Why Shahid and I were never cast together after 'Vivah' is a million-dollar question and something to think about!”
