Amrita Rao Reveals She Had Never Even Been Friends With Shahid Kapoor, Says They Have Tremendous Respect For Each Other

Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao's on-screen jodi had been one of the best that the Hindi film industry had seen. The duo had worked together in Shahid's debut film Ishq Viskq and then in Vivaah, both of which turned out to be blockbusters. The dup had been so popular that fans hoped that they would also date in real life and even Shahid's then-girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor felt that Amrita looks best with him. But, did you know that they were not even friends?

Yes, in a recent interview, Amrita has revealed that they were just colleagues. Talking to Mid Day, the actress, who recently became a mom to a baby boy opened up about how rumours of her relationship with Shahid did the rounds once. She said, "Shahid was always in a relationship when I was his co-star. Yes, the audience always wished that we were a 'real-life couple' but that had only got to do with our tremendous onscreen popularity. The funny part is that Shahid and I have only been very good colleagues, we were not even friends who hung out with each other."

She added, "But yes, we have tremendous respect for each other as artists and recently Shahid also expressed on social media that he misses working with me, which was very sweet. Why Shahid and I were never cast together after 'Vivah' is a million-dollar question and something to think about!"

We really hope that Amrita makes a comeback on the big-screen soon and is paired opposite Shahid in some film!
