Ananya Panday, Vijay Devarakonda's Liger Might Miss Its September Deadline, Makers Now Looking At A 2022 Release

Like several projects this year, Vijay Daverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger has reportedly been postponed. The movie bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions was due to release in theatres on September 9, but might be facing an indefinite delay.

Latest update on the project is that the makers still have a big chunk of Liger left to shoot. With the second wave of the pandemic postponing the shoot of this mega budget pan Indian project, a Bollywood Hungama report now claims that the makers might be looking to push the movie’s release to 2022 instead.

The report also claims that while it is uncertain when filmmakers will be able to resume shoots, Liger makers are not keen on releasing the project on OTT. The new theatrical release date has not yet been set but apparently, be decided after the remaining portions of the movie are shot.

Liger will be both Vijay and Anaya’s first pan Indian project and will see the Arjun Reddy star dubbing his own dialogues in Hindi. Liger will release in 5 Indian languages.

Reports have also been doing the rounds that Vijay might soon make his Bollywood debut as well. It rumoured that the actor has signed a project opposite Katrina Kaif which he will shoot for after completing Liger.
