Angrezi Medium Director Homi Adajania Reveals Details About Kareena Kapoor Khan And Dimple Kapadia’s Characters

Angrezi Medium is one of the biggest and most awaited films of the year. The comedy drama focuses on a father-daughter relationship, portrayed by Irrfan Khan and Radhika Madan. It follows the story of how a father does everything he can to fulfill his daughter’s dream of studying abroad. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Dimple Kapadia in important roles.

In a recent chat with Mumbai Mirror, director Homi Adajania opened up about working with the two talented actresses and shared, “We got exactly the casting we wanted. Dimple is organic, fun and always uninhibited; she says it as it is. Kareena, too, was a dream to work with, confident to face the camera without make-up as she plays an undercover cop who's often in stressful situations. The narrative takes a turn with Kareena's entry; she's the threat.” He went on to add, “Kareena usually does a different kind of cinema, but the brilliant and intuitive actress that she is, she effortlessly blended into this space.”

Homi further reveals that Dimple and Kareena will be playing the role of a mother and daughter and their relationship is similar to Radhika and Irrfan’s characters, where the daughter feels her dad does not understand her because of a generation gap. Explaining this, he stated, “Dimple and Kareena's relationship is a reflection of what could happen to them. They are so estranged now that as soon as they meet, they go down an unpleasant road, having even forgotten what they are fighting about.”

Slated to hit theatres on 13^th March, Angrezi Medium is a spin-off to the 2017 comedy, Hindi Medium. Are you excited to see so many talented actors together on the big screen?
