Angrezi Medium Makers Pen A Special Note Celebrating Irrfan’s Double Win At Filmfare Awards 2021

2020 was a pretty difficult year for all of us. The pandemic took over the world, our country went under a lockdown and the Hindi film industry lost quite a few gems including Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput. Well, to honor Irrfan for his spectacular performance and passion for acting, the late actor was honored with the Best Actor award for his last film Angrezi Medium, along with the posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the 66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards.

To celebrate his win, makers of Angrezi Medium looked back at Irrfan’s incredible journey. They shared a special post in his memory which read: “Celebrating this win and remembering the last, from one milestone to another, you took the world by storm with your limitless talent. We are so honoured to be a part of your cinematic journey. But specially a big thank you for so much more, for celebrating life and laughing through it all. We got to be part of this ride and are so happy to celebrate your victories. Thank you for #HindiMedium , for #AngreziMedium & thank you for everything in between!”

Irrfan’s son Babil Khan stepped in to receive the award for his father. His mother Sutapa Sikdar styled him and he arrived at the star-studded event dressed up in the late actor’s clothes. Sharing a story behind the outfit, Babil wrote: “People always say that you cannot fit into your father’ shoes but at least I can fit into his clothes.”
