Angrezi Medium Stars Radhika Madan, Deepak Dobriyal Open Up About Irrfan’s Medical Condition And Will To Fight

Two years after Karwaan, superstar Irrfan Khan made his comeback to the silver screen with Homi Adajania’s Angrezi Medium, his first release after battling neuroendocrine tumour. Also featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Radhika Madan, Dimple Kapadia and Deepak Dobriyal, the comedy drama is a spiritual sequel to Irrfan’s 2017 hit Hindi Medium and follows the story of how a man and his brother give up everything they have to help his daughter achieve her dreams.

In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Radhika and Deepak opened up about how the team kept the atmosphere positive during the shoot. Radhika shared that everybody was aware and sensitive of Irrfan’s health condition and understood him. She further stated that while watching the actor work, nobody would be able to say that he recently battled such a big disease. She added, “He was involved in the process. He gave his 200 percent. He would do lines as many times as you want.”

Deepak also chimed in and shared, “Once I called him after knowing about his condition and asked him 'Irrfan bhai, yeh jo role mila hai, upar wale ne jo yeh role diya, ab kya karenge, ise kaise dekh rahe hain.' And he said, 'arey haan bhai, ab upar waale ne bol diya hai, ab laga process, hunar nikal, craft, jitna bhi, ab dikha.' I heard that and I became emotional that he said such things with humour and wit. His perseverance and will to fight is next level.” Irrfan truly is an inspiration.

The film released on 13^th March and received great reviews. However, because theatres were shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, Angrezi Medium was released on a digital platform.
