Ankita Lokhande Opens Up About Casting Couch Experience, Says She Was 19-20 Years Old When It First Took Place

Ankita Lokhande has opened up like never before. In a recent interview, she has finally broken her silence around Sushant Singh Rajput. From revealing what led to the breakup to why she had his pictures even after the breakup and that she rejected Bajorao Mastani because she wanted to get married, she has spoken up about the late actor and their relationship. But, that's not all. She has also spoken about the casting couch experiences that she had faced.

In the same interview, with Bollywood Bubble, the actress has revealed that she had first faced casting couch when she was just 19-20 years old, trying to make her mark in the industry. She revealed that she had gone for an audition for a south film when she was asked to 'compromise' if she wanted the role! She said, “I was so smart, I was alone in that room and was 19 or 20 years old, and asked him, ‘Which type of compromise does your producer want? Do I have to go for parties or dinners?’” When they hinted at something else, the actress bravely stood upto it and said, "I told him, ‘I think your producer wants a girl to sleep with, not a very talented girl to work with.’ And I left from there. He then apologized and said he will try to take me to his film. But I said, ‘If you try and take me in also, I’m not interested in your film.’”

But that was't all. She had faced it again when she had also debuted in Bollywood but deftly avoided the situation. She revealed, “When I got back again into films, I felt it again, just shaking hands with that person. I don’t want to take names, he was a big actor. I got those vibes, and I quickly got my hands away from him. I knew it, ab mera yahaan nahi hoga (it will not work out for me), because it is a give and take thing. I understood and I left from there because it was not for me.”

Several actors have opened up about the casting couch experiences they had to go through. But now we hope that the industry would become a safer place for one and all.
