Antim: Mahesh Manjrekar confirms a theatrical release in November; talks about possible clash with Sooryavanshi

Just a few days ago, actor and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar had shared that he is eyeing Diwali for the big screen release of his much awaited film Antim: The Final Truth. Starring Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma in the lead, the action thriller is a remake of Marathi film Mulshi Pattern. Well, now that Maharashtra cinema halls are all set to reopen on 22nd October, a floodgate of release dates has been opened. Among many other announcements came Rohit Shetty’s post, which revealed that Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi will finally hit theatres on Diwali.

So will Akshay’s cop drama clash with Salman’s Antim at the box office on Diwali this year? Well, in a chat with ETimes, Manjrekar was quoted saying, “Antim is releasing in November but we are yet to decide on the date. But, a clash of films is unavoidable now, since there is a backlog of two years. A lot it is stake and there have been examples in the past where films have clashed on the same release date and yet both have done well.”

Talking about the characters, the director guaranteed that the audience will see a different side of Aayush and Salman. Also confirming that Bhaijaan has a full-fledged role in Antim and not just a special appearance as rumors suggested earlier, Mahesh shared that the superstar has done a brilliant job and will surprise fans with his approach to the character. For the uninitiated, while Salman will be seen as a Sikh cop in the film, Aayush is playing the role of a gangster named Rahulya.
