Anubhav Sinha has made a major shift in the kind of films he makes in Bollywood from directing films like Dus and Ra.One to making content-driven, socially relevant dramas like Thappad, Mulk, and Article 15. The filmmaker is now enjoying a break during the lockdown and says he’s happy doing nothing.

The filmmaker seems to be still feeling the brunt of his superhero extravaganza Ra.One’s failure while he has also received flak for his social dramas like Mulk and Article 15 one section of the audience. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror said he’s satisfied sitting home and is in no hurry to get back on sets. I have been relentless these past three decades. I’ve fallen stood up and fallen again. When you make the biggest film in the history of Bollywood, Ra.One, and get so much flak, it drains you… haunts you for years. I was exhausted physically and emotionally. So, I am actually happy doing nothing,” Anubhav told the publication.

He also said that he will also attempt one more superhero film in his career despite the Ra.One debacle and added “I'm sure, I will make another superhero film before I retire. I want the circle to be complete, but it does not necessarily mean a Ra.One sequel. I want to make a big superhero film and I will. I owe it to myself, but not in the next four-five years.”

The filmmaker is currently prepping for his yet to be titled next film with Ayushmann Khurrana which is supposed to go on floors in April 2021.
