    Anurag Basu has been one of the most talented directors that we have come across in Bollywood. While his style of filmmaking is very unique, not all his films managed to fare well at the box-office. However, one film that made him a popular name was Gangster. There was another person who started her career with this film- Kangana Ranaut. So what made Anurag cast Kangana in the film? he has opened up about the same in a recent interview.

    Talking to Mid Day, the director revealed, "Of the 20-25 girls we auditioned for the part, her face just stuck in my head - there was something unique about her. . In the beginning, she needed guidance for everything. But she is a really fast learner. I have seen her growth during the filming of Gangster itself."

    He also revealed that he does meet her sometime, but her online persona is very different. He added, We usually don't meet, but whenever we do, this [public] persona is not the Kangana I [know] personally. So I think there are two Kanganas. Beech wali [the other one] I don't understand."

    Anurag Basu and Kangana had worked together in several films, including Life... In A Metro and Kites.
