Anurag Kashyap And Richa Chadha Release Official Press Statements Against Payal Ghosh’s #MeToo Allegations

Payal Ghosh left the entire nation shocked yesterday when she accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment. She claimed that they met for the first time at his office and when she visited his house later, she was impressed. However, the second visit to his house did not go down similarly and the filmmaker allegedly forced himself upon her, making her uncomfortable. Payal also claimed that he told her “it is okay” because other actresses he has worked with like Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha and Mahi Gill “are just a call away”.

Anurag denied the allegations against him and stated that he has never indulged in any inappropriate activity with any woman, be it his ex wives, lovers, actresses he worked with or girls who work in his team. Last night he even shared an official press statement released by his lawyer Priyanka Khimani, stating that the filmmaker is deeply pained by the false allegations against him. Richa also took to her official handle to share a press statement condemning the act of her name being unnecessarily and falsely dragged in a defamatory manner into the controversy. She has initiated legal action for the same.

Yesterday the filmmaker had also shared a tweet slamming Payal of dragging other women into the controversy in an attempt to frame him. He wrote: “Wow, it took so long to try to silence me. You lied so much in this effort and also dragged other women despite you being a woman. Have some dignity madam! I will just say that all your allegations are baseless.” Meanwhile, it has been reported that Payal will be filing an FIR against Kashyap today at the Oshiwara Police Station.
