Anurag Kashyap Shares Chats With Sushant’s Manager From May, June; Had Called The Actor ‘Too Problematic’

Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty has been under the radar of netizens ever since an investigation into his untimely death began. She has been accused of abetting his suicide and allegedly giving him drugs without his knowledge and reports also claim that she took over his life. After 3 consecutive days of questioning, Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau yesterday. Many celebrities have now come out in support of the actress on social media. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who joined the #JusticeForRhea trend on Twitter last night, is one of them.

When a user accused the filmmaker of ‘boycotting’ Sushant and allegedly sidelining him, Kashyap took to his official handle to share chats with the late actor’s manager, admitting that he didn’t want to work with Sushant for his own reasons. In the chats from 22nd May, Sushant’s manager sent a message to the filmmaker which read, “please keep sushant singh Rajput in mind if u feel he fits in anywhere with u.” To this, Kashyap had replied that the actor is ‘too problematic’. Take a look:

In another tweet, the filmmaker shared the chat with Sushant’s manager from 14th June-- the day the actor breathed his last. In these messages, Anurag has revealed that he was upset because Sushant had ghosted him. However, he went on to add, “I just feel maybe I should have talked to him once instead of holding on to that grudge. Just feel so shit .” Along with the tweet, the filmmaker wrote: “Also My conversation with his manager on June 14th . It will show you things if you want to see. It feels horrible to do this but can’t keep it back .. and for those as well who think we didn’t care for the family . As honest as I can be .. judge me all you want ..”

In an earlier interview, Anurag Kashyap had stated that he suggested Sushant’s name for Kai Po Che, which turned out to be the actor’s Bollywood debut film. He wanted to work with Sushant and later casted him in Hasee Toh Phasee, however the actor signed up with YRF and dropped Kashyap’s project. In a chat with NDTV, the filmmaker recalled another incident and stated, “The boy was very talented but at that time, he chose Drive over a film that I was doing because he was dying to work with Dharma.”
