Anushka Sharma really wanted a baby shower when she was pregnant with Vamika: 'Was even willing to throw one for myself'

Anushka Sharma opened up about what being a parent has been like for her ten months after welcoming her daughter Vamika with husband Virat Kohli. The actress opened up about her fears and worries during her pregnancy in this pandemic and how she really wanted to baby shower with all her friends involved but had to forego it.

“I really wanted a baby shower. I was even willing to throw one for myself. But to get everyone to quarantine in order to attend was hectic and I didn’t want to put my friends through that. So I ended up having a small ceremony at home, with my immediate family in attendance,” Anushka told Grazia during an interview.

The actress who makes her first appearance on a magazine cover post-pregnancy with the publication further added, “One of the things this experience has taught me is to always look at the positives. It allowed Virat and I to spend a lot of time together because he wasn’t playing any matches at the time. Had he been travelling, I wouldn’t have been able to accompany him in my condition. My first trimester was awful, so it was nice to have him by my side, to handhold and be my cheerleader.”

The actress had announced her pregnancy in August 2020 with Virat. Posts featuring Vamika have become a sort of viral attraction on the Bollywood’s star Instagram handle now. The actress and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli though have decided to keep Vamika’s face hidden from the cameras.
