Anushka Sharma Reveals Working From Home Helped Hide Her Pregnancy: "On Set Or In A Studio, Everyone Would Have Known"

Parents to be Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are set to enter a new phase of life –parenthood- with the arrival of 2021. The star couple is expecting their first child in January and mommy to be Anushka Sharma has opened up about her lockdown pregnancy in a tell-all chat weeks ahead of her delivery.

The actress faced many advantages on the media front during the lockdown as far as keeping away from the glare of the shutterbugs in concerned. Anushka and Virat took their time in announcing the pregnancy and they are certainly happy that it wasn’t a paparazzi-spot-a-baby-bump reveal especially since the actress has two big projects to promote in the year – Pataal Lok and Bulbbul - as a producer.

Speaking about getting to keep her pregnancy under wraps Vogue’s January cover star tell the magazine, “The pandemic has been a weird blessing in a way. Virat was around and I could keep it a secret. We only left to go to the doctor’s clinic. No one was on the streets so we couldn’t be spotted.” The Pari actress also recounted an incident before her pregnancy announcement where she was giving interviews from home for her upcoming project Bulbbul and was feeling nauseous while being on a Zoom call. Recounting how she tackled the situation the actress added, “I quickly turned off my video and messaged my brother, who was also on the call, to stall them for ten minutes. If I had been on set or in a studio, everyone would have known.” 

Anushka who has definitely planned ahead also revealed how she and Virat intend to keep their baby away from the spotlight and social media. She admitted that while it would be difficult they are determined to keep it that way.

Baby Kohli arrives in January and  Indian Skipper and dad to be Virat Kohli has already returned to India from the Australian tournament to be by Anushka’s side during her delivery in the coming month.
