Apne 2 Release Postponed To Avoid Clash With Prithviraj And Jersey? Here's What We Know...

Apne has become a film that Deol fans really love. The film brought together the entire family- Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby Deol and the storyline tugged the chords of the audiences' hearts. Given the success of the film, the makers announced a sequel- Apne 2, which had Karan Deol joining the original cast. It was reported that the film will release on Diwali this year. But now, the release seems to have been postponed.

A report in Pinkvilla suggests that the makers of Apne 2 decided to avoid a clash with Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj and Shahid Kapoor' Jersey! But, the main reason seems to be the fact that the film won't be able to meet the deadline of Diwali. A source said, “It’s still being scripted and as against the initial plan of taking the film on floors by April, the makers have now pushed the schedule to July. Apne has found appreciation from a section of the audience and taking it forward as a franchise is a challenge in itself. Anil Sharma and his team of writers, along with the Deol’s are working towards fine-tuning the script, and also other elements of pre-production.”

Well, we hope that the film would release by this year though, even if it's in December. Also, avoiding the clash might prove beneficial for the film since its box-office collections won't be affected by another film's presence. What do you think about it?
