Arjun Kanungo Shares An Incident From Radhe Shoot With Salman Khan That Left Him 'Quite Shocked', Talks About Debut

Singer turned actor Arjun Kanungo got candid about making his Bollywood debut and revealed what inspired him to take up acting. As his debut film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’s release date approaches, Arjun revealed in a recent interview that it was the film’s star Salman Khan who urged him to take up acting and told him he has the personality of an actor.

Talking about Radhe, Arjun told Bollywood Hungama, “I came on board specifically as an actor because Salman Bhai was like, ‘I want you to act’.” He explains how Salman Khan convinced him he should be doing more on screen apart from his music videos and he agreed.

Talking about sharing screen space with the Bollywood star the singer heaped praises on Salman for being helpful on sets. “I has some scenes with him and when we were doing those scenes he was helping me out and telling me do this … do that. I think he cares about everybody  on set. What I noticed was that he was very aware of everybody around him, he was very aware of me, he was always guiding everybody around him, says Arjun.

He also shared an anecdote about how the superstar left him ‘quite shocked’. “We had one scene where it was like an action sequence sort of, and in the scene he lifts me on his shoulders because I am injured. Honestly, I am much taller than him, I am 6’ 4, I am much taller than most people, and he lifted me up so easily, I was quite shocked by that actually. It was like an action sequence and I was like readying myself to be picked up, but it was almost like he was a character from a film,” the debutant shared laughing.

Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, Randeep Hooda, Gautam Gulati and has been helmed by Prabhudeva. The film will release both in theatres and and on OTT on a pay per view basis, on May 13.
